Boil Water Advisory
May 30, 2026
The Town of Forest City Water Department has issued a Boil Water Advisory for all customers.
As a result of the water main break and subsequent repair work, water service interruptions and periods of low or no water pressure have occurred. When water pressure drops below acceptable levels, there is an increased risk that contaminants could enter the water distribution system.
As a precaution, customers are advised to:
* Boil all water used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and preparing food.
* Bring water to a rolling boil for at least one minute, then allow it to cool before use.
* Alternatively, use bottled water for consumption and food preparation.
This advisory is expected to remain in effect for 24 hours. Customers will be notified when the advisory is lifted and the water is confirmed safe for normal use.
The water main repair is currently estimated to take approximately six hours. Customers in the surrounding area may experience a loss of water service during the repair, and water pressure may be impacted in other areas of the system.
Additionally, Big Springs Avenue is closed from the intersection of Flack Road and Big Springs Avenue to 208 Big Springs Avenue while repair work is underway.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation as crews work to restore service and ensure water quality. Updates will be provided as information becomes available.
